Weekender »Toby« is the most compact travel bag in our range, has a practical shoe compartment and is the universal bag for all occasions. It is robust and light at the same time. It also complies with the hand luggage regulations of most airlines. By the way: this carryall is also a real fashion statement as a sports bag.

Weekender »Toby« has a capacity of approx. 40l for 3-4 days' clothing, depending on the season and body size. The useful shoe compartment on the outside is closed with a zip. The holdall can be casually slung over the shoulder or elegantly carried by hand on the leather straps. Inside there is a useful zipped compartment for valuables.

The travel bag has a high quality finish. All wear points are lined with leather on the outside. All stress points are additionally reinforced. The travel bag is padded on the underside and elaborately quilted.

We are Daniel and Christoph and live our dream. We founded DRAKENSBERG because we want to inspire people to recognize the true value of travel and to strive for it.

Our travel bags are silent reminders of the travel spirit of the 19th and 20th century, when traveling was still an adventure and travelers were adventurers.

Handmade

Maybe you have already noticed, our bags are different. Each product is an elaborately manufactured unique piece with its own little story. The bags are almost completely handmade. We only use high quality leather and natural materials. Paying attention to sustainability and environment.

Leather is a natural material and can have small irregularities. Each leather product is also patinated by hand. This elaborate process makes our products trademarked. No bag can be exactly same as another. Thus, small colour deviations are unfortunately unavoidable and are not a sign of poor quality, but uniqueness.

To be as authentic as possible, we have used only materials that were used 100 years ago and have largely refrained from using plastics and chemicals. Unfortunately, our canvas duffle bag is therefore not waterproof or water-resistant in the standard version. However, a brief rain shower will not harm our bags. Alternatively, the bag can be impregnated against moisture.</p> <p> </p> <h3><b>Can the Weekender "Toby" in olive green be made waterproof afterward?</b></h3> <p>The Weekender can be very well impregnated afterward, with a commercially available and colorless impregnating spray (e.g., Impru00e4gnol). A perfect interplay with our cotton canvas.</p> <p> </p> <h3><b>Where and how is the Weekender "Toby" in olive green made?</b></h3> <p>Our travel bags are made in India. Our factory is a small family business whose long-standing employees manufacture our bags with great heart and passion. A true friendship has grown from our long collaboration. The production conditions are socially acceptable and comply with BSCI standards. We personally ensure this on a regular basis. Our leather and cotton fabrics come directly from India. Only dyes free of AZO colors are used in dyeing our cotton fabrics. Our leathers are generally vegetable-tanned, i.e., plant-based, without the use of aggressive tanning agents. Our standards are socially and ecologically justifiable and above average. But it is our claim to continue working on ourselves and further improving our ecological and social "footprint." </p>




Our leather production is LWG certified

Our leather tannery is certified to the LWG standard and we use only vegetable tanning agents for tanning. The Leather Working Group (LWG) is an initiative to make conditions in tanneries and intermediaries more transparent and to bring about sustainable change. To implement its goals, the Leather Working Group has developed an audit protocol for sustainable and responsible leather production.
