Statement on social responsibility, 

Sustainability and environmental protection

Our many travels have always shown us how great and diverse our world is. We have marvelled, laughed, learned and discovered new horizons. Unfortunately, many trips have also shown us how unequally resources are distributed around the world. How lucky we are to have been born and grown up in a wealthy country. Every trip has made us more aware of this and also more thoughtful. 

We have not become ideologues as a result and continue to believe in the good in this world. Nevertheless, we feel obliged to make a contribution. Because it is our responsibility as travellers and our responsibility as entrepreneurs. And because we want to give something back from our happiness. Because happiness is the only thing that doubles when you share it.

At the moment, we are still at the beginning with our small company. However, it is clear to us that we will do what we can. It is important to us that our products are bought because our customers like them and because they are useful. Not because we do good. We would rather inspire other people with our conviction to share their happiness and to make this world a little better together with us.

WHAT WE ALREADY DO:

"Sunshine Project

Wealth and poverty are close together in the Indian capital New Delhi. As is so often the case, poverty hits the children living there the hardest. Begging girls & boys, with little or nothing to eat are unfortunately the sad daily routine on the city streets. None of these children have the opportunity to attend school, to receive medical care and in most cases not even the prospect of recovery.

The Sunshine Project cares for 265 underprivileged children living in the slums. Besides the essentials such as food, clean drinking water, medical care and clothing, the main concern is to ensure a sound school education.

Not only the children themselves, but also their families benefit from the positive development. The former "Sunshine Children" are now in a position to support their parents and siblings, to counteract alienation within the family and to treat each other with respect.

The "Sunshine Children" receive support all the way to a successful high school graduation or a completed apprenticeship. Many then go on to university or find fulfilment in a career in the trades.

We support the Sunshine Project and know first-hand that all funds end up exactly where they are most needed.

We are very happy about everyone who follows our example and wants to support the children in New Delhi. On the Help Alliance's Sunshine Project page, you can easily donate or even sponsor a child. Any help is welcome.

Social responsibility

The production of our goods takes place in India, in the surroundings of New Delhi. 

Our manufactory is a small family business whose long-time employees produce our bags with a lot of heart and passion. Handicraft has a long tradition here and is passed on from generation to generation. As we are on site regularly and several times a year, our long cooperation has grown into a real friendship.

Precisely because we respect the dignity of every human being, we attach the greatest importance to ensuring that all workers are paid fairly and equitably and that their families are well provided for. Our factory has been regularly audited according to the SEDEX standard for years. We can therefore guarantee compliance with fair working conditions, occupational health and safety.

With a clear conscience and pride, we can claim to have found the perfect manufacturer for us. A company that not only shares our values, but also ensures that the working conditions are above average and more than socially acceptable.

Ecological footprint

Our leather and cotton fabrics are sourced locally from India. Only dyes free of AZO dyes are used in the dyeing of our cotton fabrics. Our leathers are vegetable tanned, i.e. with the help of vegetable tanning agents.

Our leather tannery is certified according to the LWG Silver Standard.

The Leather Working Group (LWG) is an initiative to make the conditions in tanneries and intermediaries more transparent and to improve them sustainably.

We pay attention to natural and sustainable materials and avoid plastic materials as much as possible. All this makes our products particularly robust and durable.

However, it is our ambition to continue working on ourselves and to improve our ecological and social "footprint" even further. 

Photovolthaik

We have been producing our own electricity since our foundation. We have a 40KW solar power system on the roof of our headquarters in Lustadt. We re-supply the surplus electricity to the local power grid.

We ship climate neutral with DHL GoGreen

In cooperation with DHL and the GoGreen initiative, we deliver 100% climate-neutral for all shipments within Germany.

  • The emissions caused by shipping are compensated by worldwide projects.
  • Our parcels are only picked up once a day at our headquarter. This saves separate tours and the DHL driver comes by anyway.
  • We also ship to packing stations to save unnecessary drives.

Free of charge for our customers, of course!

Our contribution to the environment with Review Forest
