The interior provides ample space for your clothing and personal items for 2-3 days. The durable material ensures that the Weekender withstands the demands of travel.

The travel bag is expandable when the side fasteners are released, offering approximately 10 liters of additional storage space. Inside, there is a zippered compartment for your valuables.

Carry it comfortably using the sturdy leather handles or utilize the detachable shoulder strap for a convenient carrying option. The high-quality YKK zippers ensure easy and secure handling.

We are Daniel and Christoph and live our dream. We founded DRAKENSBERG because we want to inspire people to recognize the true value of travel and to strive for it.

To understand the path as the true goal and to grow on it. A good journey means learning. About life and about yourself. We know that a good journey can change a whole life. Our travel bags are silent reminders of the travel spirit of the 19th and 20th century, when traveling was still an adventure and travelers were adventurers.

Handmade

Maybe you have already noticed, our bags are different. Each product is an elaborately manufactured unique piece with its own little story. The bags are almost completely handmade. We only use high quality leather and natural materials. Paying attention to sustainability and environment.

Leather is a natural material and can have small irregularities. Each leather product is also patinated by hand. This elaborate process makes our products trademarked. No bag can be exactly same as another. Thus, small colour deviations are unfortunately unavoidable and are not a sign of poor quality, but uniqueness.

It is, so to speak, the perfect flight companion.</p> <p> </p> <h3><b>Does the Weekender "Owen," khaki-beige maintain its shape, or can it be stored flat?</b></h3> <p>Our Weekender belongs to the category of soft luggage and is partially made of soft olive-green cotton canvas. Therefore, the shape changes depending on the amount of filling. If you are not in search of adventure, the Weekender can be stored flat and space-saving in your wardrobe. We consciously avoid a plastic coating that would be needed for a fixed shape.</p> <p> </p> <h3><b>Is the Weekender "Owen," khaki-beige waterproof or water-resistant?</b></h3> <p>The Weekender, made of canvas and leather, has been designed after the classic travel bags of the 19th century. To be as authentic as possible, we have used materials as they were a hundred years ago and largely avoid plastics and chemicals. Unfortunately, our canvas travel bag is not waterproof or water-resistant in its standard version. However, a brief rain shower will not harm our bags. Alternatively, the bag can be impregnated against moisture.</p> <p> </p> <h3><b>Can the Weekender "Owen," khaki-beige be made waterproof later?</b></h3> <p>The Weekender can be impregnated later on very well, with a standard and colorless impregnation spray (e.g., Impru00e4gnol). Alternatively, you can also use an impregnating wax (e.g., Dr. Geeu00b4s Impregnating Wax). Just be mindful that this can change the color and texture of the bag. It is best to test the impregnation on the bottom.</p> <p> </p> <h3><b>How can I clean and care for my Weekender "Owen," khaki-beige?</b></h3> <p>We believe that a vintage travel bag should and must show how intensely it has been used. That's how it must be. Should you still feel the need to clean your bag, we recommend three steps:</p> <ul> <li>Remove dust and dirt particles, e.g., with a brush or handheld vacuum cleaner.</li> <li>Gently dab and rub out stains with a clean, wet cloth. This particularly robust leather comes from India. During production, our leather is additionally hand-finished with a colored wax based on carnauba and thus receives its special vintage patina. A perfect harmony with our cotton canvas.</p> <p> </p> <h3><b>Where and how is the Weekender "Owen," khaki-beige made?</b></h3> <p>Our goods are crafted in India. Our manufacturer is a small family business whose long-term employees create our bags with great heart and passion. Over time, our collaboration has grown into genuine friendship. The production conditions are socially responsible and comply with BSCI standards. We personally ensure this on a regular basis. Our leather and cotton fabrics come directly and locally from India. When dyeing our cotton fabrics, we use only dyes that are free from AZO dyes. Our leathers are invariably vegetable-tanned, i.e., plant-based and without the use of aggressive tanning agents. Our standards are socially and ecologically responsible and above average. However, it is our ambition to continue to work on ourselves and to further improve our ecological and social "footprint."</p>




Our leather production is LWG certified

Our leather tannery is certified to the LWG standard and we use only vegetable tanning agents for tanning. The Leather Working Group (LWG) is an initiative to make conditions in tanneries and intermediaries more transparent and to bring about sustainable change. To implement its goals, the Leather Working Group has developed an audit protocol for sustainable and responsible leather production.
