FAQs
Without suitable luggage, a good trip is hardly possible.
As a manufacturer of high-quality leather goods, we are fascinated by the symbolism of luggage. Like nothing else, the sight of a distinctive travel bag or a stylish suitcase can trigger wanderlust in us men. The history of travel is closely linked to the history of luggage. The selection of the right piece of luggage is always based on the choice of means of travel and the specific needs of a man.
What is meant by travel luggage for men?
By travel luggage for men we mean suitcases, travel bags and accessories that are specially tailored to the needs and style of modern men. This includes everything from practical, elegant backpacks to fashionable bum bags. For transporting clothes or larger items, we recommend specially designed suitcases and trolleys that are both robust and stylish. Cosmetics and personal care products ideally fit in a toiletry bag.
What luggage should men have?
No two trips are the same, so your luggage should be tailored to the type of trip. For check-in luggage, we recommend sturdy and lightweight trolley suitcases made of materials such as polycarbonate or aluminum. A medium-sized suitcase (approx. 65cm high, approx. 60 liters) is ideal for short trips, while a larger suitcase (approx. 75cm, approx. 80 liters) is preferable for longer stays. A stylish backpack or a chic men's travel bag are ideal as hand luggage and can also be used for excursions at your destination.
What is the best travel luggage for men?
We recommend suitcases as check-in luggage for flights. As a rule of thumb, a trolley suitcase of size M is sufficient for trips of up to 7 days. For trips of one week or more, size L is recommended. It is important to check the weight carefully using a suitcase scale to ensure that it remains under the permitted limit.
Which piece of luggage is suitable for short trips of up to 7 days for men?
For shorter trips, an elegant travel bag or a stylish weekender for men is ideal. These pieces of luggage are handy and can be used as hand luggage as needed, always observing the respective airline guidelines.
What luggage can I take on the plane?
The rules for hand luggage vary from airline to airline, so you should find out in advance. In general, a maximum size of 55 x 35 x 26 cm and a maximum weight of 8 kg are accepted by most airlines. For men, travel bags and practical backpacks are particularly suitable as cabin luggage.
What is not allowed in men’s hand luggage when travelling by plane?
Since September 11, 2001, the security requirements for luggage at most airports have become significantly stricter. There are a few things to consider. The following items are not allowed in hand luggage (especially before security checks): liquids in containers of more than 100ml and a total of more than 1000ml of liquid, knives, scissors, nail files, razor blades (if the blade is longer than 6cm), thermometers with mercury, walking sticks, knitting needles, objects that could be used as weapons (e.g. golf clubs), chemical, poisonous, flammable and explosive substances.
What absolutely has to be in your hand luggage when travelling by plane?
All valuables such as travel documents, passport, money, keys and cell phones must be packed in the men's cabin luggage. In addition, all lithium-ion batteries or power banks and all devices with large batteries such as laptops or tablets must be packed in the hand luggage.
What other recommendations are there for men’s carry-on luggage?
When traveling, comfort and personal needs should not be neglected. Therefore, we recommend the following things for air travel: charging cables for laptops and cell phones, valuable cameras, glasses and eyeglass accessories, sleeping masks and earplugs, medication and a good book. Here is our book tip: “The Cafe on the Edge of the World” by John Strelecky.
Special tips for optimizing your hand luggage:
Use your men's travel bag as hand luggage, ideally a travel bag that can be expanded. This way you can also use small gaps in the overhead cupboards in the aircraft cabin and expand your luggage if necessary. In addition, a travel bag for women offers plenty of space and options for optimizing the weight of your checked luggage.
Ideally, you should keep your cosmetics in a small, transparent toiletry bag. This saves time at security checks. Regardless of the time of year, you should always have a woolen scarf or a light down jacket with you. You can use this to protect yourself from strong air conditioning or as a pillow.
Attach a luggage tag to each piece of luggage that contains your address and contact details. This way, your luggage can be clearly identified.
