Porter is handcrafted from buffalo leather. Its natural surface gains character over time and develops an individual patina. Its 31 cm width exceeds the 30 cm limit for Ryanair’s small bag (40 × 30 × 20 cm) and Lufthansa’s personal item (40 × 30 × 15 cm) by 1 cm. Acceptance as an underseat bag with those airlines is therefore not guaranteed. Before flying, check your airline’s current rules, your fare and the external dimensions of your packed bag.

Is the Porter leather backpack waterproof? What should I do in the rain?

The Porter leather backpack can be treated with a suitable colourless waterproofing spray to protect it from moisture. When properly treated, it handles a brief rain shower without difficulty. It is not waterproof, however: use a rain cover in heavy or persistent rain, especially when carrying a laptop. If the leather gets wet, gently pat it dry and let it dry at room temperature.
