Not on every airline as a matter of course. Marcello measures 50 × 30 × 25 cm and may be accepted as standard cabin baggage if the airline permits a depth of 25 cm. Many airlines limit the depth to 20 or 23 cm. Because Marcello has a soft construction, its depth can be reduced slightly when it is not fully packed. The actual external dimensions of the packed bag and the permitted weight are what matter. Before flying, always check the rules of the operating airline for your fare and route.

With a 38-litre capacity, Marcello typically holds enough luggage for a three- to four-day trip. The actual duration depends on how you pack, the season and the amount of clothing you take.

The generous main compartment holds clothing, a wash bag and other travel essentials for three to four days. Smaller items can be kept separate and within easy reach in the front pocket and interior zip pocket. Marcello does not have a separate shoe compartment.

No. Marcello is neither water-repellent nor waterproof. If the travel bag might be exposed briefly to a rain shower, we recommend applying a colourless protector suitable for the specific leather. Test the product on an inconspicuous area first and follow the manufacturer’s directions for use, drying and safety. Treating the leather does not make Marcello waterproof; prolonged or heavy exposure to moisture should be avoided.

The open straps can be threaded through loops at the lower side panels so they do not protrude. Marcello can be carried by the leather handles, with the detachable shoulder strap, or attached to a wheeled suitcase using the rear trolley sleeve.
