Is the canvas shoulder bag »Milo« dimensionally stable or rather soft?

The canvas shoulder bag is part of the so-called soft luggage and is partly made of soft cotton canvas. Therefore, the shape changes slightly depending on the amount of filling. Real canvas is a tightly woven cotton fabric with a weight of around 8oz or 225g/m². This fabric was previously used primarily in shipping for sails (canvas) and in the industry for work clothing and leather goods. The material is equally popular in painting. Almost all of the world's famous paintings have been painted on canvas. A "canvas" is therefore another term for canvas. Canvas has been an indispensable part of the early days of cinema. Screens served as an ideal projection surface. Unfortunately, canvas was eventually replaced by plastic in many areas of application. In the leather goods industry in particular, you can now find many plastic materials that are incorrectly referred to as canvas. Real canvas is made of 100% cotton. For our DRAKENSBERG bags, we therefore only use real cotton canvas. For tradition, for reasons of sustainability and also for formal aesthetic reasons. Our cotton fabrics have a weight of 16oz or approx. 450g/m². Our canvas is dyed without azo dyes in a German textile factory. Our supplier is very innovative and is certified according to ISO 9001-2015 (quality management) and ISO 14001-2015 (environmental management).

Which leather is used for the canvas shoulder bag »Milo«?

For the men's handbag we only use vegetable tanned and full-grain buffalo leather. The particularly robust leather comes from India. During production, our leather is also refined by hand with a colored carnauba-based wax, giving it its special vintage patina. A perfect combination with our cotton canvas.

How do men best wear the canvas shoulder bag »Milo«?

A shoulder bag can be worn over the shoulder or across the shoulder. We recommend wearing our men's shoulder bags made of canvas and leather across the shoulder, as the weight of the bag is distributed better this way. It is then less strenuous if you have to walk long distances with the bag over your shoulder.
