And we couldn't be prouder.

A restaurant with history – FARMERHAUS in Groß-Umstadt

The FARMERHAUS was founded in 1965 by the Namibian adventurer Alfred Schodlok, who brought his African dream to Germany. In recent decades, the house has Under the management of Alfred's son Alexander and his wife Monika, the restaurant has grown into a truly prestigious establishment: Today, the FARMERHAUS is no longer an insider tip, but an absolute must for gourmets and connoisseurs. For 60 years, it has enchanted its guests evening after evening, continuing to write family history to this day – now the founder's grandchildren carry on the tradition.

The experience at the FARMERHAUS is like a mini-journey to South Africa. With warm light, fine African wine, and an exceptional dinner, the impressions of Hesse and Cape Town practically blend together. Every Wednesday, Braai Day brings South African joie de vivre to the table – braai means a true South African feeling: a great atmosphere, delicious food grilled in the outdoor kitchen, and simply a good time together. This warm atmosphere makes guests feel immediately at home. Or, to quote senior chef Alexander Schodlok: "Authenticity comes from the heart. Authenticity is part of gastronomy. On August 21st, we'll be there for the festivities and toast the milestone anniversary with the FARMERHAUS family.
