The roll-top backpack has a large zipped compartment designed specifically for all your tech accessories. Whether you're going to work, travelling or on your everyday adventure, this canvas backpack will keep all your tech gear safe and organized. Get ready to conquer the world with »Arthur«.

On the front is the compartment for tech accessories. Inside the gadget compartment you'll find three open pockets, credit card slots and various loops to organize your AirPods, chargers, cables, mouse, USB sticks and pens, such as the Apple Pencil. A handy feature is that the back zips open completely to give you quick access to the laptop compartment inside, which is large enough for laptops up to 16". We have attached two open pockets on the sides that can hold conventional water bottles.

The gadget backpack »Arthur« is handmade from robust canvas and buffalo leather and has two padded and adjustable shoulder straps. The back of the canvas backpack has high-quality stitching and is lightly padded for more carrying comfort. »Arthur« has a high-quality finish, all wear points are lined with leather on the outside and all stress points are additionally reinforced. The bottom of the bag is completely made of leather.

We are Daniel and Christoph and live our dream. We founded DRAKENSBERG because we want to inspire people to recognize the true value of travel and to strive for it.

To understand the path as the true goal and to grow on it. A good journey means learning. About life and about yourself. We know that a good journey can change a whole life. Our travel bags are silent reminders of the travel spirit of the 19th and 20th century, when traveling was still an adventure and travelers were adventurers.

Handmade

Maybe you have already noticed, our bags are different. Each product is an elaborately manufactured unique piece with its own little story. The bags are almost completely handmade. We only use high quality leather and natural materials. Paying attention to sustainability and environment.

Leather is a natural material and can have small irregularities. Each leather product is also patinated by hand. This elaborate process makes our products trademarked. No bag can be exactly same as another. Thus, small colour deviations are unfortunately unavoidable and are not a sign of poor quality, but uniqueness.

The backpack is the ideal hand luggage for almost any mode of transportation.</p> <p></p> <h3><b>Is the backpack "Arthur," olive green, structurally stable or rather soft?</b></h3> <p>Our canvas backpack falls into the category of soft luggage and is partly made of soft olive green cotton canvas. Therefore, the shape may change slightly depending on the amount of contents. The advantage is that the vintage backpack can be better stored if not needed. We consciously avoid using plastic coating on our bags, which is required for a firm shape.</p> <p></p> <h3><b>Is the canvas backpack "Arthur," olive green, waterproof or water-resistant?</b></h3> <p>The backpack made of canvas and leather is designed based on the classic mountain backpacks or hunting backpacks of the 19th century. In order to be as authentic as possible, we exclusively use materials just like they did 100 years ago, and we strive to minimize the use of plastics and chemicals. Unfortunately, our standard version of the canvas backpack is not waterproof or water-resistant. However, a brief rain shower will not harm our bags. Alternatively, the backpack can be treated with a water-repellent spray.</p> <p></p> <h3><b>Can the backpack "Arthur," olive green, be made waterproof afterwards?</b></h3> <p>The backpack can be effectively treated with a commercially available, colorless water-repellent spray (e.g., Impru00e4gnol). Alternatively, an impregnating wax (e.g., Dr. Gee's Impregnating Wax) can also be used. However, it should be noted that this may alter the color and texture of the bag. That's how it should be. Our workshop is a small family-run business, and their dedicated employees craft our bags with great heart and passion. Over time, our long-standing collaboration has grown into a genuine friendship. The production conditions are socially responsible and meet BSCI standards, which we personally ensure through regular visits. Our leather and cotton fabrics are sourced locally from India. When dyeing our cotton fabrics, only AZO-free dyes are used. Our leather is primarily vegetable-tanned, meaning it is tanned using plant-based materials without the use of aggressive tanning agents. Our standards are socially and environmentally sustainable and above average. However, we strive to continue working on ourselves and further improve our ecological and social footprint.</p>




Our leather production is LWG certified

Our leather tannery is certified to the LWG standard and we use only vegetable tanning agents for tanning. The Leather Working Group (LWG) is an initiative to make conditions in tanneries and intermediaries more transparent and to bring about sustainable change. To implement its goals, the Leather Working Group has developed an audit protocol for sustainable and responsible leather production.
