The messenger bag »Milo« is a sporty shoulder bag for files, documents, laptop and valuables. Compact in size and practical in use. Inside and outside there are numerous compartments for stowing valuables such as wallets, mobile phones, cameras or writing utensils. Inside, the bag has a padded 15" notebook compartment. Also ideal as a teacher's bag.

Messenger bag »Milo« can be worn as a traditional briefcase with handle or over the shoulder as a courier bag. The shoulder strap can be removed.

The bag has a high quality finish. All wear points are lined with leather on the outside. All stress points are additionally reinforced. The underside of the bag is elegantly quilted and padded.

We are Daniel and Christoph and live our dream. We founded DRAKENSBERG because we want to inspire people to recognize the true value of travel and to strive for it.

To understand the path as the true goal and to grow on it. A good journey means learning. About life and about yourself. We know that a good journey can change a whole life. Our travel bags are silent reminders of the travel spirit of the 19th and 20th century, when traveling was still an adventure and travelers were adventurers.

Handmade

Maybe you have already noticed, our bags are different. Each product is an elaborately manufactured unique piece with its own little story. The bags are almost completely handmade. We only use high quality leather and natural materials. Paying attention to sustainability and environment.

Leather is a natural material and can have small irregularities. Each leather product is also patinated by hand. This elaborate process makes our products trademarked. No bag can be exactly same as another. Thus, small colour deviations are unfortunately unavoidable and are not a sign of poor quality, but uniqueness.

Therefore, its shape somewhat changes depending on how much it is filled. The advantage is that this vintage men's shoulder bag can be stored away more easily when not in use. To maintain authenticity, we exclusively use materials that were common a century ago, avoiding plastics and chemicals. Unfortunately, our canvas bag is neither waterproof nor water-resistant in its standard version. However, a brief rain shower won't harm our bags. Alternatively, the shoulder bag can be made water-resistant with impregnation.</p> <p> </p> <h3><b>Can the Canvas Shoulder Bag "Milo", olive green be made waterproof afterwards?</b></h3> <p>The canvas shoulder bag can be easily impregnated afterwards using a standard, colorless waterproofing spray (e.g., Impru00e4gnol). Alternatively, you can also use a waterproofing wax (e.g., Dr. Gee's Waterproofing Wax). Just bear in mind that this may alter the bag's color and texture. It is best to test the impregnation on the underside of the bag.</p> <p> </p> <h3><b>What kind of material is the Canvas used for the Shoulder Bag "Milo", olive green?</b></h3> <p>Real canvas is a tightly woven cotton fabric with a weight starting at about 8oz or 225g/m2. That's how it should be. Our factory is a small family-run business where long-term employees produce our bags with a lot of heart and passion. A real friendship has grown out of our long-term collaboration. The production conditions are socially acceptable and meet BSCI standards. We regularly personally verify this. Our leather and cotton fabrics are sourced locally in India. Only dyes that are free of AZO dyes are used to color our cotton fabrics. Our leathers are essentially vegetable-tanned, meaning they are tanned using plant-based substances and without the use of aggressive tanning agents. Our standards are socially and ecologically responsible and above average. However, it is our claim to continue to work on ourselves and to further improve our ecological and social "footprint".</p>




Our leather production is LWG certified

Our leather tannery is certified to the LWG standard and we use only vegetable tanning agents for tanning. The Leather Working Group (LWG) is an initiative to make conditions in tanneries and intermediaries more transparent and to bring about sustainable change. To implement its goals, the Leather Working Group has developed an audit protocol for sustainable and responsible leather production.
